Return to the Village marks a very special moment for the permaculture community, celebrating 50 years of permaculture through an extraordinary gathering shaped by many voices, generations and cultures, all helping to design the next 50 together.

Presented by Permaculture Australia, for seven days and nights we’ll gather at the incredible Woodfordia site to create a living village of ideas, learning, connection and celebration. Permaculture practitioners, growers, educators, artists, changemakers, families, Elders and young people from across Australia and beyond will share skills, stories and big ideas, explore the challenges and possibilities ahead, and strengthen the connections that will carry the movement into its next chapter.

It’s a chance to slow down, spend time with your people, meet new ones, and add your voice to something bigger. Through conversation, knowledge exchange, hands-on learning, music, food, creativity and plenty of fun, we’ll celebrate where permaculture has come from and imagine where it could go next.

Whether you come for the Convergence, the Festival Weekend, or the whole seven-day journey, this is your invitation to be part of the village, and part of designing what comes next.

The Australasian Permaculture Convergence is Australia’s largest gathering of permaculture thinkers, practitioners, educators and changemakers. As we celebrate 50 years of permaculture, hundreds of people from across Australia, New Zealand and beyond will come together to share wisdom, explore bold ideas, strengthen connections and help shape the next 50 years of the movement.

More than a conference, the APC is an opportunity to live as a village for a week — sharing meals, stories, learning and daily life within a vibrant community of people committed to creating a more regenerative world. Through deep conversations, practical learning and a spirit of collaboration, the APC is where the future of permaculture comes to life.
