What is the IPCC?

The International Permaculture Convergence (IPC) has been running every 2-3 years since 1984. The purpose of the IPCC is to steward the convergence providing continuity between events and providing advice to the next hosts. It is made up entirely of volunteers which include both former IPC hosts, regional permaculture network representatives and supporting members of the community. The IPCC is not a legal entity and provides no financial support, instead it is a group of people from around the world who meet regularly to volunteer towards keeping the IPC alive and aligned with the permaculture ethics.

Want to host the next IPC?

Any permaculture group can apply to host the next IPC. If you are interested then please email IP**@*********************ce.org and we can share more information on how to prepare an application. Potential hosts would have ideally put together a high level design for how they would run the next convergence before the current one so they can present this at the current convergence and officially put their hands up as wanting to host the next one. The IPCC will then shortlist a handful of applications to present in more detail online and then evaluate them against each other. The winning host will be presented within 6 months of the previous convergence. The evaluation is weighted towards rotating between different regions, logistical feasibility, the permaculture ethics, and the application team’s experience hosting national and regional convergences.
