Get Involved with a Coast Community-Led Sustainable Festival

The Before the Tide Festival will run from 21–23 November 2025 at Narara EcoVillage—marking the Central Coast’s first community-led festival bridging climate action, intentional living, and alternative economies.

The co-ordinators Richard Weller of Climate Future and John Shiel of Narara EcoVillage are calling for those interested in getting involved as speakers, volunteers, partners or sponsors to make this happen.

“Before the Tide will also be a great warm up for the Rising Tide People’s Blockade of the world’s largest coal port from November 27 to December 2,” John said.

Richard said “the event also coincides with global climate milestones like the COP30 UN Climate Conference and AlterCOP Australia.

Across three thematic streams—Intentional Communities, Climate Solutions & Activism, and Alternative Economies—attendees will explore co-housing models, circular and steady state economies, and practical pathways for climate change action and activism. The festival will be free to attend, with support from volunteers, sponsors, and groups like the Community Environment Network.

Expressions of interest are invited for speakers, partners, and supporters at Festival Sign-Up Form
